A free Solibri alternative that runs in your browser
Solibri is the reference tool for openBIM model checking — and it's powerful. But for most teams the daily job is narrower: open the IFC, view it in 3D, find where disciplines collide, check the model against a few rules, and hand the issues back as BCF. You shouldn't need a paid seat and a heavy desktop install for that.
ClashControl covers that everyday loop — free, in the browser:
- Online IFC viewer — IFC 2x3 and IFC4 in 3D, with section planes, section box, floor cuts, a model tree by storey/type/discipline, and measurement
- Clash detection — hard clashes (intersections) and soft clashes (clearance), with a discipline clash matrix
- Model checking — IDS validation, data-quality checks (BIM basics, ILS, NL-SfB) and accessibility checks
- BCF 2.1 import and export — issues round-trip with Solibri, Revit, Navisworks and BIMcollab
No license. No install. No subscription. Models are processed in your browser and never have to leave your machine. It won't replace Solibri's deep, scriptable rulesets — but it nails the IFC viewing and coordination loop you run every day, and gets out of your way.

- Is ClashControl a free Solibri alternative?
- Yes — free and open-source, covering the everyday openBIM loop (IFC viewing, clash detection, IDS, BCF) in the browser. Solibri still has deeper, scriptable rulesets; ClashControl focuses on the daily coordination loop.
- Can it view IFC models like Solibri?
- Yes — a full online IFC viewer for IFC 2x3 and IFC4, with 3D orbit, section planes, a section box, floor cuts, a model tree and measurement.
- Does it do clash detection and model checking?
- Yes — hard and soft clashes, plus IDS validation, data-quality checks and accessibility checks.
- Does it export BCF?
- Yes — BCF 2.1 import and export with viewpoints and snapshots.
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. It runs in the browser and is a PWA, so it works offline. Your models stay on your machine.
